  • The Acan Hillae is a stunning and colorful brain coral. Acan Hillae coral grow in an encrusting manner that resembles a brain. Acan Hillae corals are found in a host of colors, but are most common in red and green.

    Acan Hillae coral should be placed in the bottom to middle of your tank and need moderate lighting and low flow rates. After you have placed your Acan Hillae, watch for any signs of stress. If you see any stress, simply move your Acan Hillae coral a few inches and watch for signs of improvement.

    Acan Hillaes corals are semi-aggressive and shouldn't be placed too close to their nearest coral neighbor. At night the Acan Hillae will send out sweeper tentacles that will sting and damage nearby corals. When placing an Acan Hillae, make sure that you provide adequate space between it and its nearest neighbor taking into account the Acan Hillae corals growth.

    Acan Hillae corals will get most of their nutrition from photosynthesis and filter feeding. For these reasons, Acan Hillae corals don't really need any additional feedings. If you'd like to supplement your Acan Hillaes diet, you can try feeding meaty foods like plankton, baby brine or mysis shrimp to your tank in the evening hours.
