  • Description
  • The Blastomussa Merleti is a very attractive and beautiful LPS (Large Polyp Stony) coral. Blastomussa Merleti have red tips and brilliant green centers. Under actinic lighting, the green centers of the Blastomussa Merleti will glow and look like something out of this world. The Blastomussa Merleti coral grows in an encrusting manner.

Blastomussa Merleti corals should be placed at the bottom of your tank on the substrate and needs moderate lighting and low water flow. After you have placed your Blastomussa Merleti, just watch for any signs of stress. If you see any signs of stress, simply move your Blastomussa Merleti a few inches and watch for improvement.

Blastomussa Merleti are not aggressive corals and shouldn't bother or sting any nearby coral neighbors. For this reason, you can place your Blastomussa Merleti close to other peaceful corals. Just know that the Blastomussa Merleti will grow at a pretty decent rate and give it room to grow.

Blastomussa Merleti get most of their nutrition through photosynthesis and filter feeding. You can supplement the diet of your Blastomussa Merleti by adding tiny foods like micro-plankton and baby brine shrimp to the tank during the evening hours. Blastomussa Merleti corals will also benefit from having trace elements introduced back to the tank by water changes or by dosing.
