  • Description
  • The Annularis Angelfish is a large angelfish found in the Indo Pacific Ocean. Annularis Angelfish can be a great addition to any large fish only tanks.

Annularis Angelfish can reach a maximum size of 12 inches and need to be kept in a tank that is at least 220 gallons. The Annularis Angelfish starts life as a black fish with light and dark blue vertical stripes. As the fish matures, the lines turn more electric blue and are not as vertical. The Annularis Angelfish also changes from black to a golden brown color.

Annularis Angelfish are not the best fish for a reef tank. They are known to nip at both hard and soft corals, and also bother some invertebrates like clams. It is really up to the luck of the draw of the personality of each fish, some people have had good luck and kept Annularis Angelfish in a reef tank successfully. Annularis Angelfish can also be aggressive to other similar species, so it’s best to just keep on in smaller tanks.

The Annularis Angelfish is an omnivore and needs a diet rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, spirulina, pellets and high quality flake food should be offered to your Annularis Angelfish to help them stay healthy and thrive.
