  • Description
  • The Bartlett's Anthias is a stunning and very colorful small reef fish. Bartlett's Anthias have a mostly pink body with a yellow back and some orange markings. Male Bartlett's Anthias tend to be a little darker in coloration.

Bartlett's Anthias reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and can be kept in tanks as small as 55 gallons. When keeping a group of Bartlett's Anthias, it’s better to keep them in a slightly larger tank. Bartlett's Anthias are great fish to keep in small schools, where you must have either all females or just one male. Multiple males will fight, while with the lack of a male, the dominant female will turn male.

Bartlett's Anthias are peaceful to other non-anthias fish, and will not bother other fish, coral or inverts making them a great addition to reef tanks. Bartlett's Anthias should not be added to overly aggressive tanks though, since they cannot defend themselves very well. Having a tank with lots of live rock will provide hiding places if your Bartlett's Anthias feels threatened.

Bartlett's Anthias are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as brine and mysis shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality pellet and flake foods will help your Bartlett's Anthias grow and thrive. Bartlett's Anthias must also be feed at least twice a day, since one large meal a day is not enough to sustain these active fish.
