  • Description
  • Bicolor Anthias are some of the most sought after and popular fish to keep in a reef tank. Bicolor Anthias are so popular because of their stunning colors and their propensity to school.

Male Bicolor Anthias are a stunning blend of orange and yellow, with the females being a little more purple in color with yellow along its back. Bicolor Anthias are best kept in tanks over 125 gallons in a school with one male and a few females. The largest female will turn into a male if there is a lack of a male. If just keeping one Anthias, a tank as small as 55 gallons should provide enough swimming room.

The Bicolor Anthias will do the best if in a tank with not too many aggressive tank mates and lots of establish rock for hiding if spooked.

Being carnivores, the Bicolor Anthias really needs a diet rich in meaty foods such as mysis and brine shrimp. Many people have had luck feeding Bicolor Anthias flakes as well. Bicolor Anthias will do the best of feed small meals throughout the day.
