  • Description
  • The Ignitus Anthias in one of the most stunning of all the anthias species. Ignitus Anthias have a very bright orange body with yellow and red highlights. This coloration has also given them the nickname of Flame Anthias.

Ignitus Anthias reach a fully grown adult size of around 3 inches and should be kept in a tank that is at least 75 gallons. If you are keeping multiple Ignitus Anthias in one tank, the tank size should increase by at least 50 gallons. Ignitus Anthias are all born females, and with the lack of a male, the dominate female will turn male. Male Ignitus Anthias normally have a much more intense coloration to them. Ignitus Anthias do very well in groups up to twelve.

Ignitus Anthias are very peaceful fish and should not bother other fish, coral or inverts. This makes them great fish for both FOWLR and reef tanks. In FOWLR tanks, just make sure they are not houses with overly aggressive large fish which might try to eat them.

Ignitus Anthias are carnivores and need a diet rich in meaty foods. Ignitus Anthias do very well when fed mysis and brine shrimp, frozen foods and high quality pellets and flake foods. Ignitus Anthias, like most anthias species, tend to do the best when fed smaller meals multiple times per day.

Please feel free to contact us at any time with any questions you might have about the Ignitus Anthias and if it’s the right fish for you tanks.
