  • Description
  • The Randall's Anthias is a very colorful and fairly easy to keep anthias. Randall's Anthias have a long and slender body that is completely covered in reds and yellows.

Randall's Anthias reach a maximum size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in aquariums that are at least 55 gallons in size. Randall's Anthias are very peaceful fish and should get along with most other fish, inverts and coral found in reef tanks. Randall's Anthias do very well in smaller groups of either one male and several females, or all females. With the lack of a male, the dominant female Randall's Anthias will change into a male. Randall's Anthias males should not be kept with other males though.

Randall's Anthias do very well in tanks that have lots of live rock and a refugium. Since Randall's Anthias love to eat live small inverts like pods, having established live rock and a fuge will keep a steady supply of pods in the tank.

Randall's Anthias do best when they are fed at least twice a day. Since they are such active fish, multiple smaller meals suite them much better than one larger meal per day. Randall's Anthias are carnivores and need a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen foods will help your Randall's Anthias stay healthy and thrive.
