  • Description
  • The Rainbow Basslet is a stunning and super colorful basslet from the Eastern Pacific. Rainbow Basslets have a mostly red body with a strong black central horizontal stripe and other brilliant yellow horizontal stripes.

Rainbow Basslets reach a maximum adult size of around 7 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 150 gallons. Rainbow Basslets are semi-aggressive fish, but shouldn't bother most other fish, coral and inverts in your tank. This makes them a great addition to reef tanks. Rainbow Basslets are very active fish and should be very active in your tank.

Rainbow Basslets do best when placed in a tank with lots of live rock. Rainbow Basslets will make their own territories out of your rock work and will be somewhat aggressive to other fish that venture too close. Rainbow Basslets are much more outgoing than other smaller basslets as well. Rainbow Basslets will make a great showpiece fish to just about any aquarium and is guaranteed to add a ton of color and movement to your tank.

Rainbow Basslets are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, small pieces of fresh seafood, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality pellet and flake foods should keep your Rainbow Basslet healthy and happy.
