  • The Latticed Butterflyfish is a beautiful and very colorful butterflyfish. Latticed Butterflyfish have a mostly yellow body with a strong black eye stripe and stripe on its tail. Its body has a lattice pattern over its entire body.

    Latticed Butterflyfish reach a maximum adult size of around 7 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Latticed Butterflyfish are peaceful fish and should not bother fish or inverts in your tank. In nature, Latticed Butterflyfish will eat coral as their main diet. For this reason, Latticed Butterflyfish make a very bad choice for reef tanks.

    If fish only tanks with peaceful to semi-aggressive tank mates, Latticed Butterflyfish can add a great dash of color to your tank. Since Latticed Butterflyfish are so shy and peaceful, lots of live rock should be present in the tank, so they can hide if they feel threatened.

    Latticed Butterflyfish are carnivores and need a diet that is rich in meaty foods. In captivity, foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as small pieces of fresh seafood can be offered to a Latticed Butterflyfish. These foods should keep your Latticed Butterflyfish healthy and thriving.
