  • The Yellowstriped Cardinalfish is a very colorful and peaceful cardinal. Yellowstriped Cardinals can be a great additional to smaller tanks as individuals are larger tanks in groups.

    The Yellowstriped Cardinalfish has a long white body with horizontal yellow and orange stripes going along its body. The Yellowstriped Cardinalfish only reaches a maximum size of 2 inches, so they can be kept in tanks as small as 10 gallons. In larger tanks multiple Yellowstriped Cardinalfish can be kept together. They will form a non-aggressive group with a clear dominate fish.

    The Yellowstriped Cardinalfish should not be kept with aggressive tank mates, which would make a quick snack out of them. Yellowstriped Cardinals are also considered reef safe, since they will not pick or nip at corals in inverts. The Yellowstriped Cardinalfish should be provided lots of rock to hide in if they feel threatened, and also areas where they can get away from high flow.

    Being carnivores, the Yellowstriped Cardinal should be offered a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, bloodworms and flake foods do stay healthy and do well in aquarium life.
