  • Description
  • The Ocellaris Clownfish might just be the most popular fish offered in the aquarium trade. After the movie “Finding Nemo”, who’s plot centrals around an Ocellaris Clownfish, these fish have exploded in popularity.

Before anything is said about the Ocellaris Clownfish, it is important to note that keeping an Ocellaris Clownfish, as well as any saltwater fish, requires a huge dedication to the hobby and daily maintenance and checking of your tanks perimeters. Keeping an Ocellaris Clownfish is not like keeping a goldfish or betta fish. Please only purchase if you are dedicated to the hobby.

The Ocellaris Clownfish can grow up to 4 inches as an adult and needs a tank of at least 20 gallons to thrive. The Ocellaris Clownfish has a mostly orange body with black tipped fins and three distinct white vertical lines.

Ocellaris Clownfish are considered reef safe and will not bother other fish, coral and inverts in your tank. The Ocellaris Clownfish can get aggressive to other clownfish when there are not a male-female pair, the dominate male might become aggressive as it turns to a female.

Ocellaris Clownfish need a diet rich in meaty and herbivore foods. Normally offering foods such as mysis shrimp, frozen marine food, pellets and flake foods will be enough to keep your Ocellaris Clownfish happy.
