  • The Four Stripe Damselfish is a very cute and hardy damsel. Four Stripe Damselfish have a white body with four strong black vertical stripes, hence its name.

    Four Stripe Damselfish reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Four Stripe Damselfish are aggressive fish but shouldn't bother many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes them a great fish to add to your reef tank.

    As Four Stripe Damsels age they start to become more aggressive to other damsels and similar sized fish. Four Stripe Damselfish normally become aggressive over the territory that they believe is theirs. To get around this issue, try to add a Four Stripe Damselfish later in your stocking order of the tank. Also if you have a large tank, you shouldn't need to worry about their aggression very much. Four Stripe Damsels are also very hardy fish, making them a great fish for beginner aquarists.

    Four Stripe Damselfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Four Stripe Damselfish healthy and happy.
