  • The Garibaldi Damsel is a stunning large and colorful damsel. Garibaldi Damsels are almost completely orange with blue spots when they are juveniles.

    Garibaldi Damsels reach a maximum adult size of around 15 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 125 gallons. Garibaldi Damsels are aggressive fish but shouldn't bother inverts of coral in your tank. This makes them a good choice for reef tanks with larger more aggressive fish. Garibaldi Damsels can bother smaller fish and also should not be kept with other Garibaldi Damsels.

    Garibaldi Damsels will thrive in tanks with lots of live rock and also cooler water temperatures. Garibaldi Damsels will spend a lot of time in and around the rocks that they claim as their own. They can get aggressive towards other fish that venture into their territory. If you have a larger more aggressive tank, the Garibaldi Damsel can add a great splash of color to your tank.

    Garibaldi Damsels are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both green and meaty foods. As juveniles foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Garibaldi Damsel healthy and happy. As your Garibaldi Damsel grows larger, it might need more substantial foods like chunks of fresh seafood.
