  • Description
  • The Scooter Blenny is a very unique and interesting fish to add to your aquarium. Besides being interesting to look at the Scooter Blenny also will sift you sand in search of food.

Scooter Blennies reach a maximum size of just over 3 inches and can be kept in an aquarium as small as 40 gallons. They are peaceful reef safe fish that will not bother other coral, fish or inverts. If you want to keep multiple Scooter Blennies in the same tank, you need to try to introduce them to your tank at the same time.

The Scooter Blenny is brown, tan and orange in color. The main difference between the male and female Scooter Blennies is that the male has brighter colors and a longer dorsal fin. Otherwise they are identical.

Scooter Blennies will spend the whole day going through the sand bed looking for food. This will help your sand stay clean, but might also cause areas where there might be bare spots. The Scooter Blenny needs lots of rock to hide in as well to feel comfortable. Scooter Blennies are carnivores and need a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods like brine and mysis shrimp are great for Scooter Blennies.
