  • Description
  • The Yellow Goatfish is a stunning and very colorful goatfish. Yellow Goatfish have a long and slender body that is completely yellow with a blue line under their eye.

Yellow Goatfish can reach a fully grown adult size of around 20 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 125 gallons. Yellow Goatfish are strong swimmers and will benefit from larger tanks. Yellow Goatfish are considered peaceful fish and should not bother other fish or coral in your tank. Yellow Goatfish might end some of the necessary inverts found in reef aquariums though, which means you must proceed with caution if you plan on adding one to your reef tank.

Yellow Goatfish will do the best in tanks that have a decent depth sand bed and lots of live rock. Yellow Goatfish will often go through the sand bend to look for small inverts to eat, and will benefit to having lots of live rock to hide in if they feel threatened.

Yellow Goatfish are carnivores and require a diet that is very rich in meaty foods. Foods such as chunks of fresh seafood like squid, clams, scallops, fish and shrimp will help your Yellow Goatfish grown and stay healthy.
