  • The Trimma Goby is a recently discovered and ultra rare goby. Trimma Gobies are mostly yellow in color and have a strong purplish blue horizontal stripe that runs the full length of their body. Trimma Gobies also have a purple tale and blue fins.

    Trimma Gobies are small fish and only reach a maximum size of just under 2 inches. Trimma Gobies are rather peaceful fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes them a great fish for reef tanks. Trimma Gobies can jump fairly well, so they should only be kept in tanks that have a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked.

    Like most gobies, Trimma Gobies should not be kept in tanks with large overly aggressive fish since they cannot defend themselves well. Trimma Gobies can be kept in a mated pair, but in smaller aquariums should be kept singularly. Trimma Gobies will really do the best with kept in tanks with lots of sand and live rock for them to eat small inverts off of between feedings.

    Trimma Gobies are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen meaty foods and high quality flake and pellet foods should keep your Trimma Goby healthy and happy. You must make sure that the food is small enough to fit in their small mouths though.
