  • Description
  • The Arc Eye Hawkfish is a very interesting and distinct hawkfish. The Arc Eye Hawkfish has a orange body which fades to yellow with a long horizontal white stripe along the back half of its body. Arc Eye Hawkfish get their name from their interesting arc marking behind their eyes.

Arc Eye Hawkfish can reach a maximum adult size of 6 inches, and should be kept in aquariums that are at least 29 gallons in size. Arc Eye Hawkfish can be very aggressive to both other hawkfish and other smaller and larger fish. If you would like to keep an Arc Eye Hawkfish, make sure you add it near the last of your fish additions. Arc Eye Hawkfish can be very territorial, and will harass newly added fish.

In a reef tank, Arc Eye Hawkfish will eat inverts like crabs and shrimp, as well as anemones and small fish. So if you want to add an Arc Eye Hawkfish to your reef tank, you need to proceed with caution.

Arc Eye Hawkfish are carnivores and need a diet rich in meaty food to thrive. Food such as feeder shrimp and fish, fresh seafood and mysis shrimp are great foods to feed to your Arc Eye Hawkfish, and should help it thrive.
