  • Description
  • The Red Diana Hogfish is a very stunning and colorful hogfish. Red Diana Hogfish start life as juveniles that are mostly red with black fins and many white spots. As they age the Red Diana Hogfish has a mostly red body with yellow coloration in its center and red fins.

Red Diana Hogfish reach a maximum size of around 10 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 150 gallons. Red Diana Hogfish are aggressive fish and should never be kept with smaller fish or inverts. For this reason, Red Diana Hogfish are not great choices for reef tanks.

Red Diana Hogfish are strong swimmers and need lots of space to move about in an aquarium. Having an aquarium with lots of live rock will also help keep your Red Diana Hogfish happy. Red Diana Hogfish will hide in the rocks if they feel threatened and also spend all day hunting for small inverts in the crevices of the rock work.

Red Diana Hogfish are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty food. Foods like small chunks of fresh seafood like fish, clams, squid, shrimp and scallops will keep your Red Diana Hogfish healthy and thriving.
