  • The Porkfish is a colorful and vibrant fish. Porkfish have a mostly bright yellow body with two strong vertical black stripes on its head and bright blue horizontal lines along its body.

    Porkfish reach a maximum adult size of around 12 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 125 gallons in size. Porkfish are peaceful fish and will get along with most similarly sized fish. Smaller fish and inverts can be harassed by larger Porkfish. For this reason, Porkfish are not suitable fish for reef tanks. Porkfish do well in small groups as well, but should be introduced at the same time.

    Porkfish live in the shallow coastal waters and are a very important fish for food and are very popular with local fisherman. In larger fish only tanks, Porkfish can be a great fish to add some color and movement to your tank.

    Porkfish are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as small pieces of fresh seafood will keep your Porkfish healthy and happy.
