  • Description
  • The Immaculatus Puffer is a large and very interesting looking fat puffer. Immaculatus Puffers have a mostly pale white body with a yellow mouth and yellow tails. Immaculatus Puffers also have a blackish brown spot around their eyes and halfway down their bodies.

Immaculatus Puffers reach a maximum adult size of around 12 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 150 gallons in size. Immaculatus Puffers are semi-aggressive fish that shouldn't bother most other fish in your tank. Immaculatus Puffers will eat pretty much any invert it can find though. For this reason, Immaculatus Puffers are not great additions to reef tanks.

Immaculatus Puffers will thrive in tanks with lots of live rock for them to take shelter in as well. Immaculatus Puffers have the ability to inflate their bodies to at least twice their normal size. This keeps larger predators away from the Immaculatus Puffer. Immaculatus Puffers should never be moved using a net and should only be moved using an acrylic or plastic container. Inflating will stress the Immaculatus Puffer, so you should never try to get them to inflate for amusement.

Immaculatus Puffers are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality meaty frozen foods will keep juvenile Immaculatus Puffers healthy and happy. As your Immaculatus Puffer gets larger, it will need more substantial foods like chunks of fresh seafood to stay well fed. Since Immaculatus Puffers have hard beak like teeth, foods with hard shells will keep their teeth ground down.
