  • Description
  • The Leopard Toby Puffer is a colorful and fairly newly seen species of puffer in the aquarium trade. Leopard Toby Puffers have a mostly white body with dark spots. Their face is covered with mostly green coloration with yellow markings.

Leopard Toby Puffers reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in a tank that is at least 30 gallons in size. Leopard Toby Puffers are peaceful fish that will not bother other fish or coral in your tank. Leopard Toby Puffers might try to eat some of your inverts though, meaning that you must proceed with caution if adding one to your reef tank.

Leopard Toby Puffers will inflate their bodies when they feel threatened. For this reason you should only use a plastic container to transfer a Leopard Toby Puffer, since a net might alarm and injure them. Also it is strongly advised against to get a Leopard Toby Puffer to inflate for enjoyment since it's so stressful on the fish.

Leopard Toby Puffers omnivores and need to be feed a diet that is reach in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, algae sheets and small chunks of fresh seafood like clams, shrimp, crab, fish and krill will keep your Leopard Toby Puffer happy and healthy.
