  • The Yellow Stingray is an attractive and colorful stingray from the Gulf of Mexico. Yellow Stingrays have a mostly light tan body with darker brown markings and bright yellow coloration.

    Yellow Stingrays reach a maximum adult size of around 28 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 500 gallons. Yellow Stingrays are semi-aggressive fish and might eat smaller fish and most inverts. Yellow Stingrays should not be kept in reef tanks for this reason and also because of their size.

    Yellow Stingrays need to be kept in tanks that have a deep sand bed made out of fine substrate. Coarser substrates will scratch the belly of the Yellow Stingray and lead to infections and illness. Yellow Stingrays are extremely hard to care for fish and should only be kept by the most advanced aquarists or those who have had experience with stingrays in the past.

    Yellow Stingrays are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Yellow Stingrays will require a diet the consists of both crustaceans and fish to stay healthy and thrive.
