  • Description
  • The Blonde Naso Tang is one of the most stunning of all the surgeonfish. Blonde Naso Tangs have a mostly gray body with bright yellow along the top of their body and orange along their bellies. They are very similar to the common Naso Tang, just a lot more colorful.

Blonde Naso Tangs grow to a fully adult size of around 18 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 150 gallons in size. Blonde Naso Tangs are peaceful to other fish, coral and inverts and make great fish for reef tanks. Blonde Naso Tangs will be aggressive to other tangs though. To reduce the aggression between tangs, try to have the largest tank you can and try to introduce all your tangs at the same time. Having plenty of algae available at all times will also reduce tang aggression.

Blonde Naso Tangs are very active swimmers and need lots of swimming room. Most times having a longer tank will suit Blonde Naso Tangs much more than tall tanks without much swimming room.

Blonde Naso Tangs are very susceptible to diseases like marine ich, so it is required that your quarantine them before adding them to your display tank. Once free of ich, adding supplements like selcon and garlic to a Blonde Naso Tangs food will help its immune system stay strong.

Blonde Naso Tangs are herbivores and require a diet rich in green foods. Foods such as nori, algae sheets, high quality pellet and flake foods, spirulina and mysis shrimp will help keep your Blonde Naso Tang healthy and thrive.
