  • Description
  • The Golden Blue Eye Tang is a very rare and colorful surgeonfish. Golden Blue Eye Tang have a mostly golden yellow body with blue eyes.

Golden Blue Eye Tangs reach a maximum adult size of around 7 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons. Golden Blue Eye Tangs are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts found in your tank. This makes them a great fish for reef tanks. Golden Blue Eye Tangs can be aggressive towards other tangs, especially other Ctenochaetus tangs. To try to reduce aggression between tangs, try to introduce all your tangs at the same time and also make sure there is always some algae for your tangs to graze on between feedings.

Golden Blue Eye Tangs do best in tanks with lots of open swimming room and lots of strong flow. If kept in a tank that is too small or with poor swimming room, a Golden Blue Eye Tang will become stressed and ill. Golden Blue Eye Tang are also awesome algae eaters, and will eat various types of nuisance algae.

Golden Blue Eye Tangs are herbivores and require a diet that is rich in green foods. Foods like nori and marine algae sheets, high quality flake and pellet foods, high quality frozen foods, spirulina and mysis and brine shrimp will keep your Golden Blue Eye Tang healthy and happy.
