  • The Blue and Yellow Wrasse is a stunning and super rare wrasse. Blue and Yellow Wrasses have a mostly blue body with strong horizontal yellow stripes and a yellow tail. Male Blue and Yellow Wrasses tend to be more brightly colored than the female as well.

    Blue and Yellow Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 6 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Blue and Yellow Wrasses are strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks with tight fitting lids with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Blue and Yellow Wrasses are peaceful fish and shouldn't bother too many fish, inverts or corals in your tank. This makes the Blue and Yellow Wrasse a great addition to most reef tanks.

    Blue and Yellow Wrasses can be kept in small groups or pairs, but only with one male present in the tank. Multiple male Blue and Yellow Wrasses in the same tank will lead to aggression issues. Blue and Yellow Wrasses need to be kept in tanks that have both lots of live rock and sand in them. Blue and Yellow Wrasses will spend their days picking small inverts off of the rock between feedings. Blue and Yellow Wrasses also require a sand bed to burrow in at night.

    Blue and Yellow Wrasses are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Blue and Yellow Wrasse healthy and happy.
