  • Description
  • The Filamented Flasher Wrasse is a stunning and very colorful wrasse. Filamented Flasher Wrasses have a mostly red body with orange highlighting and some yellow and blue markings. Male Filamented Flasher Wrasses tend to have much stronger coloration and will flash colors when trying to mate.

    Filamented Flasher Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 6 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Filamented Flasher Wrasses are peaceful fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank making them a great addition to reef tanks. Male Filamented Flasher Wrasses should not be kept together since they will be aggressive to each other. Groups of females or females with one male Filamented Flasher Wrasse should do well together though.

    Filamented Flasher Wrasses are strong jumpers and should only be kept in tanks with tight fitting lids with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Filamented Flasher Wrasses sleep in the rockwork and do not require a sand bed like some wrasses.

    Filamented Flasher Wrasses are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake foods will keep your Filamented Flasher Wrasse healthy and happy.
