  • Description
  • The Pintail Fairy Wrasse(Cirrhilabrus isosceles) is one of the most striking and unique fairy wrasses out there. It’s incredible color and active nature makes a terminal male C. isosceles the centerpiece of any tank.

The Pintail Fairy Wrasse has an incredible array of colors, including orange, yellow, purple, and tinges of blue, red, and black. The body of the Wrasse is primarily orange, with a purple line running down each of its sides, and another purple line right below its dorsal fin. A terminal male will also have the “Pin Tail” and will have hints of blue, red, and black. These fish are absolutely stunning.

The Pintail Fairy Wrasse maxes out at just around 5”. That and its incredibly active nature, means it will require a tank of at least 90 gallons for this fish to thrive. All Cirrhilabrus Wrasses are carnivores by nature, so this fish will benefit from the frequent feeding of meaty frozen foods, such as frozen brine or mysis shrimp. Use caution when combining two fish from the Cirrhilabrus genus, and using an acclimation box when introducing a new fairy wrasse will greatly increase the chance of minimal aggression. Contrary to popular belief, these fish do not bury in the sandbed and will do fine without one, as long as there are sufficient hiding places.

All Cirrhilabrus Wrasses are carnivores by nature, so this fish will benefit from the frequent feeding of meaty frozen foods, such as frozen brine or mysis shrimp.
