  • Description
  • The Bubble Anemone is one of the most attractive anemones you can add to the home aquarium. Bubble Anemones come in a wide variety of colors and can be a stunning addition to your tank.

Bubble Anemones are easy to distinguish from other anemones since they develop a bulb near the ends of their tentacles tips. Common colors for the Bubble Anemone are red, yellow, pink and green. In the ideal conditions they can grow to over a foot in size. Most Bubble Anemones tend to stay small and can be housed in tanks as small as 29 gallons. Bubble Anemones also make great hosts for clownfish.

Bubble Anemones tend to like moderate water flow and require moderate to high flow rates. You can place a Bubble Anemone anywhere in your tank, but they will move around the tank until they find a location that is best for them. Bubble Anemone are considered semi-aggressive since they will sting other anemones or coral they think are a threat.

Bubble Anemones require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp and chunks of marine fish and shrimp will help your Bubble Anemone grow and flourish. The tentacles of the Bubble Anemone can sometimes seem long, this is sometimes a clue to feed them more or add more light to your tank.
