  • The Pizza Anemone is a stunning and very large carpet anemone. Pizza Anemones grow out in a flat, almost pizza looking manner. Pizza Anemones have small tentacles as well. Most Pizza Anemones tend to be greenish or tan in color.

    Pizza Anemones reach a maximum size of around 36 inches, but that is rare in captivity. Most tanks that are larger than 29 gallons should be able to hold a Pizza Anemone. Pizza Anemones are aggressive anemones and have the possibility to eat some fish and inverts. For this reason, only add a Pizza Anemone to your reef tank under caution.

    Pizza Anemones should be placed in tanks with lots of live rock and sandy substrate in them. Pizza Anemones will often wonder through the tank looking for that perfect area where to settle. Pizza Anemones tend to like stronger lighting conditions as well. Pizza Anemones will gladly play host to most clownfish species as well. Having a clownfish will also help your Pizza Anemone get used to life in captivity.

    Pizza Anemones are carnivores and need a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, as well as small chunks of fresh seafood will keep your Pizza Anemone healthy and happy.
