  • Crabs are some of the best creatures that you can add to a reef or fish only tank. Crabs come in a variety of sizes and serve a host of different functions.

    Some of the most commonly seen Crabs seen in marine aquariums are Hermit Crabs and Emerald Crabs. Crabs in general are amazing scavengers and will make their way through your tank looking for any missed and left over food to eat. Many Crabs also will take care of some undesirable types of algae.

    When picking Crabs for your tank, make sure you read the detailed description of each Crab species to see if they are a good choice for your tank. While most Crabs will leave fish alone, some are known to eat smaller fish. Snails and shrimp are also sometimes targeted by specific Crab species as well.
