  • The Colored Tunicate is a beautiful and elegant invert. Colored Tunicates have a mostly white body with various brilliant splashes of yellow on it.

    Colored Tunicates are very peaceful inverts that shouldn't bother other inverts, coral or fish in your tank. This makes them a great addition to reef tanks. They can be placed in most areas of your tank and do not need any strength of light to prosper. Colored Tunicates do best when they are placed in an area that gets strong water flow that isn't direct and random. After you have placed your Colored Tunicate, just watch it over a few days to see if it seems happy. If it seems stressed, simply move it slightly and watch for improvement.

    Colored Tunicates should not be placed in tanks with fish or inverts that enjoy eating fleshy inverts and coral. This includes triggers and most angelfish. Colored Tunicates will often lose part of their body, which will soon regenerate. During this process the Colored Tunicate can look rather rough, but it should be fine if left alone. Colored Tunicates are extremely hard to keep, and only expert aquarists or though who have had experience with this species should attempt to keep one.

    Colored Tunicates are carnivores and get most of their nutrition through filter feeding. If you would like to supplement its diet, trying feeding the tank with mysis shrimp or baby brine shrimp as well as micro-plankton.
