  • Description
  • Brine Shrimp as very small marine crustaceans that are an extremely good food for most saltwater fish, coral and inverts. These tiny shrimp offer a lot of nutrition that the inhabitants of your tank will love.

Brine Shrimp are typically used as a supplemental food or treat for your fish, but sometimes many finicky eaters will need to be fed live foods like Brine Shrimp before they start to eat prepared foods. For example many wild caught angelfish will start to take Brine Shrimp in their first crucial days in captivity before learning to accept other foods. Also after introducing a new fish to an established tank, it might take live food to get the fish brave enough to eat with the other established fish.

Some fish like pipefish, mandarins, dragonets and seashorses will also benefit from live Brine Shrimp being offered to them. To keep Brine Shrimp alive between feedings, keep them in a small tank or bucket with a small air pump/filter. You can also feed Brine Shrimp phytoplankton while keeping them alive. Before feeding Brine Shrimp we put them in a small dish with aquarium water and some Selcon to increase their nutritional value.
