  • Description
  • The Cerith Snail is a very useful and interesting little snail. Cerith Snails have a mostly tan to black spiral shaped shell that grows with them.

Cerith Snails reach a maximum adult size of around 1 inch and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 10 gallons in size. Cerith Snails are peaceful snails and will not bother other inverts, coral or fish in your tank. This makes the Cerith Snail a great addition to reef tanks.

Cerith Snails will do best in established tanks with lots of live rock and sand for them to look for food in. Cerith Snails will spend most of their days eating leftover food, algae and detritus found in your tank. For this reason, Cerith Snails are a great addition to your tank's clean up crew.

Cerith Snails are omnivores and get most of their nutrition through scavenging. If you would like to supplement their diet, add lots of both green and meaty foods to your tank. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and frozen foods will keep your Cerith Snail healthy and happy.
