  • The Pillow Starfish gets its name from its fluffy resemblance to a pillow. Pillow Starfish can come in various colors as well.

    Pillow Starfish can reach a maximum adult size of around 12 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size. Pillow Starfish are considered aggressive and can go after some inverts and coral as well. For this reason Pillow Starfish are considered not reef safe starfish.

    Pillow Starfish will roam your tank looking for leftover pieces of meaty foods. If you feel that their diet needs to be supplemented, you can add some brine shrimp or mysis shrimp to the tank.

    Pillow Starfish should only be attempted to be kept expert reef keepers due to their intolerance of changes in water parameters and their inability to be exposed to air.
